My town is New York, but this play was about L.A.
I was invited to do a reading of My Town: an adaptation of Thornton Wilder's Our Town. The piece takes place in today's Los Angeles, and like the original, is about love and family. Lovely Patrick Breen asked if I could read the role of Emily Webby, and Wendy Kout, our playwright, sat with us during our rehearsal and had dear friends and colleagues come watch our performance. It felt so special being a part of this passion project and joining this My Town family; we were the first group of performers to bring it to life, and that is always special. It also seems like this project is going to continue to evolve and grow, so I think that we will be revisiting this piece again.
